Top 5 Creative Scrapbook Ideas

Do you have a stockpile of unused scrapbooks and photo albums in your craft room?  Did you fall in love with the beautiful designs?  Could see yourself putting all your favorite pictures together as a gift for someone? Or were you meaning to finally put all those vacation photos in a memory book of your family vacation and then you never followed through?  Do you need some creative scrapbook ideas?  You are not alone!  🙂

I have bought a scrapbook or album for a few projects that I thought I would make this elaborate spread and I never got around to doing it as life has got in the way.  A great way to get your craft stash organized is to possibly reuse old albums or re-purpose new scrapbook albums to give them a new life or project.

My relaxing time is when I take time for myself and enjoy one of my many favorite crafting projects.  My goal is to have more Craft Therapy in my life. Check out my post here to learn more about the Craft Therapy Challenge.  Here are some upcoming projects that are going to keep me busy in the new year and I thought I would share with you my top 5 project ideas I have for using my untouched scrapbooks.

1. Goal and Vision Book

What inspires you?  Where do you see yourself progressing this year?  Are you going to start that business this year?  What do you want out of life? We are about to approach the beginning of the new year and what not a better way to start off your new year by creating a Goal and Vision book similar to a Vision Board.  What do you want to happen in your New Year?  You can do this for any time frame or even have your vision book centered on a theme?  Are you planning on getting married this year?  What a great way to put all the great pictures of wedding inspiration together in one book with notes and memories as you are going through this process.   This project is at the top of my list and I guarantee there will be some beach pictures in my vision book.  What big goals and dreams are you going to accomplish this year and beyond?  Check out our Pinterest board for some inspiration.

2.Family Tree Memory Book

Start telling your family stories!  What a great way to memorialize our loved ones past and present by putting together a beautiful family album with pictures and of our family.

Do you ever wonder what the story is behind a photo?  Ask your parents, grandparents the stories behind their photos and help preserve a part of history.  Record those stories as you will always have a great conversation starter.

3. Kids Keepsake Book and Organizer

award certificates for scrapbook
Who loves bragging about their kids?  🙂 This can be used as great conversation piece for your coffee table book during the holidays and its the easy way to give you bragging rights! Keep a yearly scrapbook with 12 pages for each month front and back to dedicate to the most important highlights of your child’s achievements throughout the year.  You can do these for baby books, school awards and certificates and kids of all ages.  They are also a great way to keep tabs on the most important items and keeping you organized and not falling into the trap of “I want to save everything”.  Check out some school scrapbook layouts here.

4. Scrapbook Planner and Organizer

Happy Planner Scrapbook

If you love organization as much as I do this will be your new obsession! It is the paper crafter and organizer’s dream!  You can create your own organizer and decorate it with all your favorite paper crafting items such as scrap paper, washi tape, stickers and more.

You can be creative while you plan your week, month and daily tasks decorating with checklists motivational stickers and creating any type of theme you like for the week or month.

It helps me keep organized while being able to create at the same time.  My new favorite organizer is the Happy Planner and you can find them here.

5. Scrapbook Journal

Do you love to write?  Create a scrapbook diary on any subject that means something to you.

Here are some ideas for your themed scrapbook journal:

    1. Travel Adventure- What did you discover on your destination? Show off your pictures and what you did and how you felt.  Was this a  bucket list trip?
    2. Gratitude/Affirmations- Have you heard of the Morning Miracle?  It’s a great book to get you motivated and inspired to live your best life. Spice up your morning routine with sharing your intentions and gratitude with some inspirational quotes to get your day started!
    3. Lastly, gather all your favorite recipes and take picture of your favorite dishes.  These are great to have for when you are not available to be the only one who knows how to make Aunt Alice’s pecan pie! (Tip: I laminate my recipe journal pages so they are easy to clean and reuse over and over in the kitchen so I don’t need to worry about reprinting.)
